A Lurkers's first restoration

Welcome, Bizz!

I know you're mostly concerned about getting the hardware as good as it can be. I'd like to recommend two products that will help you.

1. After you use the simichrome on the hardware, if you're not satisfied with the results, try: Nev-R-Dul (Google it.)

2. For the shells: Novus #3, #2, and #1 polish in that order. It'll get out all of the small scuffs, scratches and haze.

Looking forward to seeing the kit after you detail it. Congrats on a great buy.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Way ahead of you on the Novus, it's really good stuff. Tonight I took some to the snare and actually got all the hardware back on and put together. Thanks for the suggestion on the Nev r dul. I'll give it a try for sure.

I am so jealous, I wanted a kit exactly like yours when I was a kid. Bowlby music store had a brand new kit in their display window when they first came out. It was 900.00 and my dad would not buy it for me, lol!

Nice score, lookin good!

Thank you!

That is a pretty kit. Did you restore it?? Or where you lucky enough to find it in that condition?

Welcome Bizz!

What a cool project to take on for your first restoration. You're going to end up with a very special kit that'll sound great. Keep us posted on your progress along the way.
