I'm introducing this photo highlighting the hammering, which are somewhat reminiscent of the early "602 style." By that I mean to show how the circular hammering also runs together to form 602-like radial "tiger striped" patterns.

The accuracy of the hammering has caused me to re-think whether or not this really was free hand style hammering. After discussing this with one of our members here, I've begun entertaining the notion that just maybe Zildjian was already using machine assisted hammering a little earlier than publicly advertised. If true, then I don't think that it can be positively proven. And if so they went to great lengths to keep it a secret.

That is beautiful hammering, it is an interesting theory too. That cymbal sounds great.

I have one in that weight range(2155g) with a single rivet and measures 19 3/4. Very loose cymbal that's really a crash/ride more than a ride. The stamp is very much like the one you show but the AVEDIS is very lightly stamped.

Thanks for sharing, Gary.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

I've seen a few of these T-stamps that, if casually viewed from the top, almost appear as a later era cymbal, due to the uniformity of the top lathing.
