A big HELLO

Hi all.

What can I say?

I absolutely love Vintage drums!

And having lurked around this site for a few months, i love this site too!

I own several sets and many Snares that pre date 75, my oldest being a 14x6.5 WMP Radioking Snare. i also have a couple of lovely newer kits (79/80 era) although I'm in the throws of selling one of them.

Additionally for the record I also have a couple of totally current DW's that I play live on that are killer in their own way.

Oh and for anybody on UGW I am the same Gecko.

Nice to meet you all.

x

Welcome aboard! Please post pics of your drums. We love pics around here. We have some of the most knowledgeable members here on the VDF. We have Rogers specialists, we have Slingy specialists, we have Gretsch specialist, etc. and we even have cymbal specialists here. So any questions, please ask.

You could post your kit in the for sale section if you wish. You might find a buyer!

Cheers

Ok my first attempt at posting Photo's. Here's my first Vintage purchase.

This is an old 3ply clear maple SC in 22" 13" 16". I found it in a local Drum shop some 9 or 10 years ago. It had been re-wrapped and was a bit banged about. I didn't really know what I was doing but for £400 it was worth a go. To tell the truth I fell in love with it there and then. I have used this little kit on most of the recordings I've made over the years and I have never had anything else other than praise for this little gem. In fact I rented it out to a named producer a couple of years back because he loved recording the kit sooo much. I charged £400 for it for the week, so in a way the kit was free.

The Acrolite pictured with it is also a gem. £120 is all I paid. For £520 I have got one hell of a sound. A real little "Hit Maker"

Ah and finally here's a couple of snaps from late last year. Another studio sesh.

I'm back to using rail mount which I find totally fine and dependable.

This picture in fat low tuned heavy dampening mode. Notice my 402 14x6.5, also with B?O badge from sometime in the 70's.
