Greetings,
It's my first post here, I know this kit is not a vintage one, but I didn't know if there was a more appropriate section to put this thread. Please tell me if there is one.
I recently purchased a New Old Stock Slingerland kit that I have troubles to identify in spite of intensive search on the internet.
It seems that it is probably be a kit for the 90s.
The shells are supposedly all maple (from what I was told at the store) and finished with a dark green lacquer. I contacted MusicYo that used to import them, but they told me that there was no all maple shell model, neither were lacquered ones.
The serial numbers are 9026XX (XX depending on the element). The badges look exactly like these ones (taken from an eBay auction).

Looking at the catalog pages on this site, the kit looks exactly like the Spirit / Spirit Plus models (especially the tom holders that are different on recent - like late 90s - imported ones), but the scan indicates all mahogany shells, and no lacquered finish is mentionned.

I know how to differenciate mahogany from maple on a guitar, but the wood is cut differently I think that for a drum, so the wood grain doesn't look the same.
The shop told me that there were two models at the time it was produced, one corresponding to a student model, the other one to a "pro" model, this one being of the "pro" kind.
Would you have more information about this set, or a catalog from that time? Thanks a lot.
