8x14" Rogers snare...can you ID it?

Hello All! I have an 80s Rogers 8x14" snare drum. I believe it is from the XP-8 series. The bottom does NOT have the bridge, so I guess it isn't a Dynasonic. I would appreciate any and all information you can give me about it. With all due respect, I request that you do not speculate with your info. I bought it from the original purchaser and it spent most of its life in a closet. Other than the rusty badge grommet, it is as mint as mint can be (including the original bottom head.) The top head is a Duraline...remember those? I would like to know the following:

Rogers SuperTen, 1983. Black Felt with Dampener, +serial number, more or less confirms this. Top and bottom hoops are original.

Ten plies of ALL North American Rock Maple, shell made by Keller. Produced from mid to late 1982-1984. The eight inch version of the superten is the most seen. Six and a half inch versions less common, five inch versions most rare.

Your drum appears to be in premium condition, I would expect to pay 300-450 at auction.

Lose the duraline and go for a Coated single ply ambassador weight head on top and an Ambassador weight Snare side head for the reso. The only issue I notice from your pic is that the Rogers Swivomatic Snare throw off is either loose or missing the top screw on the inside of the shell, unless that is just a reflection line you see at the top corner of the throw off. Second thing I recommend is to check your lug mount screws. They maybe barely tight due to shrinkage of the black felt. Hand tighten with a nutdriver or a very good screw driver by snugging them down gently. Do not over tighten, you do not want to crush the shell plies or break one off. Do not use a power type screwdriver.

Nice drum, enjoy it well. It appears to be in fantastic shape.

Great eye! The throw-off did have a loose upper screw. I noticed that too when I published the picture. Thanks for the great advice and info. Cheers...Keith
