$700 plus shipping

Mid-70's 3 ply Black and Silver badge Slingerland kit - 22x16 - 9x13 - 16x16. All new Evans heads, tops AND bottoms. Emad on bass. All hardware functions smoothly and holds tight. Nothing stripped, broken, missing, extra holes or mods of any kind. Toms have original mufflers and re-rings. Someone on the Forum pointed out that the hoops are probably not original since they are metal with a one inch matching inlay. Thanks for pointing that out. I'm 61 now but am not an expert on vintage drums. Don't want to steer anyone wrong. I have no reason to believe that the rest of the kit is not original. The snare is about 4 months old made by Audette Custom Drums of Orange,Ca. 14x6 15 ply Maple VSS Keller shell in Red Glass Glitter with Slingerland style hardware.

The kit is in museum condition. No rust, pitting or scratches on the chrome. Wrap is tight with no fade. The snare and bass have a little more of a glitter pattern to them than the toms but match well. Not sure what happened with the bass. My first kit was a Slingerland blue sparkle in 1965 that my parents bought me. Everything matched except the mounted tom. It had more of a greenish tint to it. We brought it back to the store (Rondo Music for those of you in the Jersey area who are old enough to remember). We ordered a new tom and this one too had the more greenish tint to it. Who knows. If you reply to my email address I can send you some pics. I'm IN Bethlehem,Pa. Local pickup preffered but I can ship. Please respond via my personal email or phone. Thanks

Hi All -

Let me start by saying that IT'S ME, not the site.

I am pretty much done with Vintage Drum Forum. All the members have been great and the I really enjoyed all the info and pics over the years,but....this has got to be the most confusing web site I've ever used. Again it's me, but non the less, seems I cant even post pics or even reply to posts. If anyone is interested in the Red Sparkle Slingerland kit that has been on here since the Roman Legions marched thru Gaul, here's my phone # - 610-597-0338. Thanks and God Bless

Dave

Hey Dave...I've been following that set on craigslist, as I scan your area on a regular basis to see what's for sale. The bass drum rims are definitely not original to the set. I'm sure someone will want them, but you may have to come down on price a bit. Good luck!
