hi everyone,

i just picked up this beauty today!

early 70's Ludwig B/O badge Hollywood 4 pc drum set, 2/13/16/22 in Burgundy sparkle finish! just cleaned her all up, retouched the bass drum hoops, threw some broken-in remo pinstripes on and she's ready to play! sounds EXCELLENT in all tuning ranges but excels in mid-tones! all badges are in the 725xxx range.

its a great player and i am going to have to list it as a player and price it accordingly.

here are some of the issues ive found with the drums, in the case of full disclosure for all potential buyers:

- it is missing 3 bass drum t's and claws so i had to use vintage 50's gretsch sink faucet t's and claws, which isnt bad because you can sell these 3 to fund 3 luddy claws and t's and have a few bucks left over!

- the bottom bearing edge of the floor tom seems to have some black spotting around the edge, im assuming it may be mold and maybe the drum was exposed to water at some point? the shell and edge are fine and are not splitting or anything like that, and i did not bother to try to kill the mold with a bleach/water mix (cuz i dont have any dang bleach in the house to do so).

-the toms seem to feature some kind of glue residue underneath the bearing edges, looks like they may have been reglued at some point? i dont think they were off the drum, maybe just separated a bit? i dont know.

aside from those issues, the wrap and chrome are great, the bd hoops came out excellent and best of all the kit sounds fantastic.

i am pricing this kit low based on those issues listed.

i feel if you are a knowledgeable resto cat then u can fix these issues and make a nice buck reselling,

or if you are a player who doesnt care about them since they dont affect the sound, this kit is for you!
