70's Gretsch Burgundy Sparkle CL

In case anybody is in the market for these, the price is right!

Non-original hoops on the BD, but otherwise the kit appears to be all there and in primo condition.

Would $1500 be about half of what it would normally sell for?

Mo - That's what I figured. Must be a $2500 kit on a bad day. Like I said the price is right. I'm trying to lighten the load over here or I would have pulled the trigger on them myself.

I'm no Gretsch expert but that almost seems to be too good to be true. Hope someone finds out and can let us know.

Edit: Looks legit after reading the ebay description.

Those would be the correct metal bass drum hoops for a Gretsch bass drum from that era.

Thanks KO I didn't know that. I saw metal hoops and automatically assumed they were MIJ add-ons. Great price for that kit.

It's definitely possible (even probable perhaps) that those hoops were made in Japan, but those are what Gretsch put on their bass drums for at least part of the 1970's. But they are missing their inlays.

I'm glad I'm broke right now or I'd be strongly thinking about these, or at the very least the matching concert toms he has on ebay to use with my Burgundy Ludwigs.

Looking at everything he has for sale (on ebay) it looks like this was one big double bass kit with dual floor toms and auxiliary concert toms that he has split asunder into smaller, more saleable parts.

What`s all that patchwork going on inside around the spurs I think on the BD ? Looks filled, painted and re-drilled.

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!
