7 Gretsch Orphans one big family !!!!

Loading...

So here they are ...... A little over a years project 16x22 10x12 11x13 14x16

2 are original ice blue finish and the others were a mix of stained and wraps all from the early 80's.

For those who might have access to a real good auto body shop I highly recommend it. They computer matched the two original pieces in ice blue the other five pieces were sprayed. Can any one guess which ones are original ?

Beautiful job on that kit! They all look like they were born together, not like orphans at all.

Too many great drums to list here!

Here are the 2 pieces that started the project still in the original finish.

all others were assorted orphans repainted by Auto Body shop to match.

After converting the 18 ft we did a test shot on a small sanded piece of 3/4 plywood to see how close the could get to a 35 year old finish.

I was amazed. The hoops on the 22 were too badly chipped so i decided to strip them down.

Depending on the lighting this color can look very different but i am absolutely crazy about it.
