Shawn, if you trade them in, you're going to lose your ass financially. First, you might consider changing your mind about shipping. You've limited your audience by trying to stay local, number one. Shipping a drumset is really not hard; just time consuming. You telescope the 13" inside the bass drum with packing peanuts, so it can be done in two boxes, with the 16" going separately. Wrap the cymbal arm in bubble wrap and put it inside the bass drum. Use plenty of packing materials; peanuts, bubble wrap, styrofoam and loose cardboard inside the boxes, and make sure the boxes have plenty of room on the sides and on top and bottom. You could always get some help from a pack 'n ship store. The people who run those places are professionals at packing. You'll need to have the drums packed and then get your shipping totals first before trying to sell them. That way you don't screw yourself and lose money on shipping.

Those drums are desirable. Put them up on Reverb for a price of $999 with Make An Offer, then take $800 plus shipping. You'll sell them easily, as there are a lot of delusional idiots on that site who ask stupid money for vintage drums. I think they've smoked too much crack cocaine. Stuff priced fairly sells on Reverb. The high priced gear sits for months on end.

I have shipped drumsets to Canada, Denmark, and all over the USA. It's not as hard as you think. Good luck.

Hi Shawn, do you still have this drum set. If so, i am really interested. Do you think you would be able to ship it? I live too far away to drive. I have been dreaming of a vintage ludwig set and this one looks to be in my price range.
