'66 Ludwig Student Festival

Loading...

Decided to restore the '66 School Festival players drum. New to me, I first refinished it to enhance the Mahogany, next had Stan at Pro Drum do the edges back to the original soft round overs. This made a huge difference in the sound, and finally got new COB 2.5 hoops. It now sounds like I'd hoped. Dark dry and woody and due to the new edges no longer sound boxy and tunes to a much wider range.

Is that a 14: or 15"? I found a 15" at a yard sale for really cheap. It seemed like it was originally lacquer finished. I just sanded it down and relaquered it.

It's long gone. After seeing yours I wish I had kept it. Yours is beautiful.

Thanks much. It a 14x6.5. Never seen a 15. Special drum for sure.
