Here are the before pics of my newly acquired 1966 Luddy Acro.
Are you can see, it has been sitting dormant for quite a while (ie the dead spiders & spider webs inside the drum!)
Any suggestions on cleaning the shell and hardware?
I have already removed the rims, lugs, throw and butt plate and removed the dead spiders from inside and outside (under the throw!).
I have a 66 as well! My favorite snare for the past year or so. I am missing the muffler but I tend to use a small spot of duct tape on the head for muffle control. Mine is no show piece but it sure does sound good!

nice drum. there isnt too much you can do with the shell itself other than clean it and wax it up good. these shells look like bare aluminum but are anodized. so, the finish you have is pretty much what you will have. they are basically coated and can't be polished so to speak.
you can soak the hardware in a mixture of dawn dish soap and water overnight or simple green. the hardware will look brand new. then just give the hardware a nice wax or polish.
