'66 and '68 ludwig treasure trove. PERFECT!

Hey Guys,

I have decided to sell my huge 60's ludwig kit that I have cherished. I am the second owner of this kit, it was sold to me by a friend that I work with. I have the two original receipts as well as the 1967 ludwig drum catalog. You could split this up into two amazing vintage kits or combine them into the monster I have... Mind Blowi They are the original Blue Oyster Pearl, not the bowling ball. All of them have original keystone badges. There is absolutely no pitting or rusting of any of the chrome whatsoever. There are no paint chips and the colors are not faded at all. I would say these drums are easily 9.7/10 condition wise. All of the drums tune up and sound absolutely great! Perfect vintage ludwig sound and body! Both bass drums have the original logo heads and every tom has the original low head. This could easily be the museum kit of your dreams! The previous owner had them sitting in his basement in cases for literally over 20 years!!! Some of these drums are date stamped and some are not. I am not an expert or a dealer of vintage ludwig's so please forgive me if I have misquoted anything. The sizes and serials are as follows:

(2) 14"x22" Bass Drums - One with double tom mount. Other with no tom mount. S/N - 423822 and 573893.

9x12 Tom - S/N - 425160

10x13 Tom - S/N - 425025 There is a small crack on the inside of this drum which is pictured below but does not affect playability. the drum still tunes up and sounds great!

16x16 Floor Tom with legs - S/N - 425142

HUGE!!! 18x20!! Floor Tom with legs - S/N - 633825 I think this is very very rare as I cannot easily find information about a floor tom this big on the internet.

5x6 Bongo and 5x8 Bongo - S/N - 630508

I have tons of hardware that I would include with the sale including 2 cymbal stands. Speed king style hi-hat pedal and three speed king bass drum pedal. Lots of random pieces included as well. Cymbals pictured are NOT included. There is also a double tom mount as well as a standing double tom mount. I can also take plenty more pictures or answer any questions that you might have. I am looking to get $4500 for the whole lot and will do local pickup in IL or ship it. I might also consider reasonable offers... Please no low balling. I am available by telephone as well if you are interested. I figured i would put it here before ebay, but if I don't get anyone interested here, I might be forced to post it there.

Just letting people know. If I don't get any interest soon for the whole thing, I will probably end up parting it out and selling some of the stuff on ebay. Let me know if anyone is interested in any of the individual pieces. I know that huge floor tom and bongos are kind of rare and would be an interesting addition to someone's kit... Cool1

Yes, the 18x20 floor was added later by the first owner along with the second bass drum and the bongos. You can tell they are from '68 from the serial numbers. The huge floor tom just sold on ebay. Let me know if you are interested in any of the other pieces.

Thanks,

Ryan

Hey Man,

That's a really nice kit. Does the other kick have any kind of mount? Would you consider selling that 1 drum?

Thanks,

Emmojo

The other kick doesn't have a mount. But it does have the two rogers spurs. I would be willing to sell that drum by itself. PM'd
