60s Luddy Downbeat 4x14

Loading...

Picked up this baby a couple years back, but I've never had much luck keeping the snare tension solid. Any tips?

The strainer seems to be in good shape and the butt end is secured well. My '66 supra never has issues like this.

Thanks for any insight into this!

The center rivet, at the pivot point of that strainer, tends to ware out. You can have them redone at any decent drum shop.

Thanks guys, what cord do you suggest? The orange Ludwig cord they sell in most shops?

fishaa: I will check on that rivet. It's a killer little drum and I want to use it more, but that sloppiness in the snare response kills me!

... or, you can save yourself a trip and some change by using a piece of cord from an old set of mini-blinds! Look around, I'll bet you have an old set in the house somewhere.

Too many great drums to list here!
