60-70's? K Ride w/bell Signature, need info

Loading...

VDF, need some help with specs, ID'ing, value. Just went through some "random junk" at a friends house and this showed up, was apparently left behind when he moved in. Saw the stamp and the signature and got pretty excited.

Mounted it up, and of course it sounded amazing. Bell does not sound all that good, mainly due to it not symmetrical and it has a sort of bent look. But is not dented, its just not right (plus is has key holing and cracking around the hole). So i'm here to get the info, see pics, trying to get the hammering and lathing to stick out in a few. Thanks for your time. - E

Most old K's didn't have the best sounding bells, anyway.

That's a nice find. One in excellent shape would fetch about $1000-1200 these days. The bellhole problem on hat one drops it a bit, but I am pretty confident it'd still fetch $750 or so on eFlay.

I have seen worse bellholes, really. If you intend on keeping her and playing her...I suggest you grommet the center hole or have it done by someone. That way the grommet will take the stress away from the weak areas of the irregular hole, and the situation will not get worse. Plus, the grommet is always removable should someone not wish it there in the future.

Very cool...do you know the weight ????
