hi everyone,

I'm fixing up a "59 Ludwig marching snare from just a shell( 10" x 14"). I've sanded off the remaining duco paint.I have no hardware for it, but I got a Ludwig catalog as a guide. I can find p83 strainer ,butt and muffler online, rest will be tricky, I think. I think my model is a single tension Champion, based on the hole locations,etc. I got questions and a want list.

1) how high are wood hoops? I have new maple ones that are 1 1/2 ".

2) the lugs in catalog pic, look like bowtie type. the catalog lists two types: p95 and p2239. I assume the lug inserts are left out so tension rod will pass through. Which type do I need? I need 8.

3) How long are tension rods? 10"? I need 8.

4) I need 16 claws; 8 on top( p2304 ?),8 on bottom( p2303 ?).

This drum also shows indent marks from claws on the snare side. Not sure how that happened. Maybe drum was used as a concert tom at one time? Thank you for any info, ideas, suggestions you guys and gals have!
