59 Leedy drums Last viewed: 39 minutes ago

I have a set of 59 leedy WMP drums i'm thinking of selling...not complete but snare, bass and tom. they are WMP, no extra holes tight wrap, clean inside, and really nice condition...i'd say 8 out of 10. Ive cleaned all the chrome and most of it looks really good to excellent. the sizes are 22x14/13x9/ 14x5 1/2 One of the bass drum hoops had been broken but was repaired with a very nice scarf joint and looks very good...also, except for the front of the bass drum, all the heads are new...i can post some pics later but does anyone have any idea what a fair asking price for these are. also, i have all the hardware that is used for the front bass drum head...Thanks

Keep the BD head original, but mostly scamers will answer your question without pics. The rest of us will wait until we can see them before answering. We know that without pics.,...it don`t exsist !!

SlingerLeedy drums are my favorites. So, with love for the drums, and respect for you as a fellow drummer, I give my opinion of value. The three pieces without a matching period-correct floor tom are worth no more than $300 to me. With a correct 16x16 floor tom, they would be worth $600--$800. To a beginner vintage drum buyer, you might get $500 for the three drums. Then, that novice will learn the harsh realities of trying to match old WMP from different drum sets, and also trying to find a floor tom for less than he spent on the other three drums.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

The snare is a gem. Those can fetch a few bucks over 250. Sometimes they will go above 375, depending on condition and finish. Leedy snares and drums are über cool (even the Slingerland era builds). The bass and tom are worth what someone will pay. Some have gone for as low as 125 apiece, while others have gone into the higher realm of several hundred apiece. Put all that together and you are looking at in the area of 600 or more for the three. If you had the matching 16 floor, it would climb way way way over a grand as a matched set.

The floor tom issue is not yours nor should it effect what you have, that`s the buyers problem and they know it !!

The Casual outfit did not come with a Floor tom and probably why yours don`t have one. It was a BD, Snare, HH and cymbals, That`s what you can list it as cuz that`s probably the way it was bought !!
