And here's a pic of the finished product...or just about finished. I still need to make the logo for the bass drum...but other than that...she's gassed up and ready to play for my gig tonight! Can't wait for the test drive...

Nice work, that came out great! What did you use for chrome polish, and use to remove some of the pitting?
Those turned out great Aaron! Let us know how they sound after your gig.
Greg
Thanks guys.
Ludwig 400...I used this organic chrome polish I picked up at a local swap meet to clean up the rust. Like others have suggested with vinegar or Coca Cola, I let the parts soak over night and scrubbed with a medium-soft brush. After they dried I then gave them a coat of turtle wax to polish.
Hey Greg...they performed well last night, but I'm changing the heads...they didn't do it for me. Probably go with Remo Emp's or Vintage Amb's. I sure dig these tubs, though!

I'm really digging the Vintage Emps these days. The Vintage Ambs actually seem deader than the Emps. This is on my fiberglass Blaemire drums though.
What a gorgeous set of drums. Great job!
El - Treat yourself to two sets of these:

Put one on each of the bass drum spurs and on the floor tom legs. The difference in the sound/resonance of the drums is going to blow your mind. I promise you. Well-worth the extra few bucks.
Thank me later! baby crawl2

You did a fantastic job. That kit looks fantastic and I can almost hear that Ludwig tone just by looking at the pics!

Hey John,
So...I'm about to order the feet like you're suggesting...but will they stay on since they are 10.5mm and the old Ludwig legs only 9.5mm?
