Gents;
Thanks to all the wise fellow in here, I had the initiative -- and confidence -- to spent the day breaking down my '63 Slingerland 20-inch kick. There was dirt funk in there from the Nixon administration. Looks great now. A lot better than me. But I'm left with three quandaries.
1.) I was surprised by how many of my tension rods are bent. (Old injuries. This set ain't gigged in a while). Is this normal? Drum sounded fine with the bent hardware.
2.) Ply is just beautiful. Pristine. But it's old and pretty dry. Is it advisable to give it a quick rub with some (mild) furniture restorative or polish? (Liquid Gold?)
3.) Had a tip on an earlier post that old beat up hoops look great with a Rustoleum touch-up (after serious sanding). That sound right?
Thanks. Stin
