I listed a set on Reverb.com for the first time, and I had a buyer interested across the country. I got an estimate from FedEx for $475 needless to say the buyer passed. I never shipped an entire set before, just wondering if you guys go a different (cheaper) path. this was ground which is cheapest they offer. it was bass plus 5 drums all over sized.
$475 to ship a drum set???

They now gouge you with that dimensional weight crap charge, If it's over 24" box yep get ready to get killed on shipping. I used to use greyhound bus to ship over sized drums 26" 28" but they've now gotten just as ridiculous as fedup and oops. USPS is no better on over sized.
Wow!! That's ridiculous!!
Cheers

It's gotten ridiculous to ship big sized drums. Make friends with someone who owns a pack 'n ship store, like me. My man Frankie packs the drums with me and charges me the bare minimum. We sent a big drumset to Canada two years ago, and we packed them up in about fifteen minutes. Also, get your boxes from a music store. I have three boxes reserved for me at a local music store as I speak.
Yeah, it's ridiculous. And if you sell on eBay, they also gouge you...and PayPal takes a snip, too. It's no wonder that the actual value of an object has to be overblown these days. Otherwise, it doesn't even make sense to try and sell anything online anymore.
