40's LEEDY 18" Tenor Bass Drum

Being poor keeps me from being a vintage drum hoarder. That being said, I must part ways with a drum I love and will probably never see the likes of again. It's a Leedy 18" bass drum in red laquer. I used it as a kick and loved it but when I split open the folds of my wallet, bats fly out and spiders have weaved webs. Looking for $350 plus shipping. If I'm way off, I whole heartedly invite you to straighten me out. Thanks VDF'ers!

There's a big "3904" stamp and a smaller unreadable 4 digit number stamp but no date stamp...

Yes,there is.....

the 3904 means April,1939 !.....as I said....late 30's......

could tell by the lugs.....

That's a marching tenor drum. Remember, the marching snares of the era were 16" and 17" in diameter. I have one of these tenors, in its original natural finish.

Value is about half the asking price.
