4 x 14 Lang Gladstone repro restore

Loading...

Hi, I am new to the forum (I am also on cymbalholic with the same handle) and I wanted to start with showing my newest aquisition, a lang gladstone repro.

The drum came with a badly torn wrap, so I rewrapped it in wmp which I yellowed myself to match my 1948 broadkaster set. To take the theme even further I left of the lang badge and added a gretsch badge because there was an unused hole in the drum, probably to attach the personal name tag each lang gladstone drum comes with.

The pic of the auction on top and my resto beneath:

And some more details, enjoy!

Welcome to the VDF, That's a beauty, how did you age the wmp wrap, also do you know what shell this drum is Keller, vaughncraft etc? I've met Arie Lang and had the chance to play his real Gladstone snare drum, you have one fine snare drum there!

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

well I guess it is a keller maple shell, but that was hard to make out, because the shell was laquered black and then wrapped.

And you are right it is one of the finest snares I have ever played, I just put calf heads on it, with those it shines!
