1978 Pearl W-5 with 1978 Pearl Catalog

Loading...

Hello-

I have a 1978 Pearl W-5 Drum Set that had been in my Dad's attic since I was a kid and I would like to sell it. As you can see from the picture the Drum Set is literally like new since like most other things in life I gave up on trying to play them after a week or so.

The set includes:

14x22 Bass Drum

8x12 Tom Tom

9X13 Tom Tom

16X16 Tom Tom

5X14 Snare Drum

Camber High Hat

18 Camber Cymbal

18 Zildjian Cymbal

8 Remo Roto Tom

10 Remo Roto Tom

Stool

As you can see from the picture all of the bottoms are off of the drums but I have them also.

What do you think I can get for this Drum Set? Is it considered vintage?

Thanks in advance.

While technically it is vintage by definition, it is not highly collectible. The bottom heads are important- if you still have them I strongly suggest including them in the sale and for-sale photos as single headed toms are not popular today at all. Without the bottom hoops you might ask about 300$ since it is good cond. You may only get 250$ just because it doesn't have a great wrap design and is not from a great production period for Pearl. During that time most of these kits were made in Taiwan and the hardware was in a transitional stage - a little clunky and not super quality metal parts. Pearl from pre-1975 are more sought after and again 80s Pearl (high-end) drums show exceptional quality. Sincerely, good luck. You could always start playing them againExcited
