It's the second ugliest wrap to ever leave the Ludwig factory, the first being the hideous mod orange. It reminds me of finger painting we did when we were in kindergarten.DOH

generally speaking, the psychedelic era was 1967 to the late 1960s, no? In 1976 (a) was Ludwig still making drums with Psych wrap?; and (b) The Psychedelic Period was long over ...

You're probably right. I've been using the serial chart that puts this in 1976, however you're not the first person to bring up the year with this one...

I have a Ludwig kit that by the serial numbers puts it at '76 too but they're 3-ply shells with all of the very early 70s hardware; diamond plate and thin arced bass drum spurs (5/16"). I think in 1970 the numbers were un-sequenced for a while.

I have a 1967 Psych Red downbeat kit with a rare 14" floor tom and the serial numbers are all 552XXX......
