Continuing with the cleaning of a 1973 Rogers Londoner V.

This afternoon I disassembled the 16 x 16 floor tom.
The first picture, the tom on the table is the before.
When I purchased the set in October 2010, the tom was missing the legs and the tone control. I found period correct replacements on ebay for insane amounts of money compared to the $75 I paid for the set.
The wrap at the seam had glue that had seeped out. Not sure if this was a repair or the CBS influenced quality control issue. (I have replaced most of cast collets due to cracks).
The glue was removed slowly with a razor, scoring and then chipping. As it was very brittle, it came off easily and cleanly. The pictures in the center are in-progress and complete.
I degooped, cleaned, and waxed the wrap and polished all the hardware.
The hoops are in nice shape. Not perfect but I would say 9 out of 10.
The inside label appears to have separated leaving only the backing and no visable print.
There are scratches on the wrap but they are few showing only light use or care.
I left the evans clear on the bottom and put a new Remo Coated Ambassador on top.
Toms are next...
