1971 Ludwig Bonham kit 26
If you'd be able, can, could, will, would ship it to Australia I'd buy it!!!.
Shouldn't the OP join the forum as a contributing member instead of coming here for the purpose of selling something with post #1?
Currently looking for a 3-ply 24x14 Ludwig in champagne sparkle w/rail consolette and cymbal mount!
You've got a point Zach,
I could buy a NEW Legacy Bonham kit for less!!!!.
I'll certainly echo these thoughts.
Mojo isn't inherent in the instrument, it rest with the musician.
That said, I really don't understand the idea of paying such a high premium for some vintage drums when new instruments at a better price point are available from the same manufacturer. I've got a late 70's/early 80's Black Beauty that is valued in the $2,000 (or $2,500 just few years ago) neighborhood on eBay when you can get a new one for about a third that price or even less for a used later model? I've got an early 70's 5-piece kit in the same sizes (different finish) as this seller, but I don't think it's anywhere near the crazy asking price.
Back in the day, I paid $200 for that BB and using an inflation calculator that comes out to $621.47 in todays dollar and equates to approximate street price for a new BB.
I also hold the opinion that the quality of the modern version easily matches and in many case exceeds that of earlier instruments.
You may also find that you prefer the "Classic" (7-ply) sound over the "Legacy" (3-ply + re-rings). I've got both a 3-ply and 6-ply 26" bass drum and 6-ply has got more attack and well, just plain "umph" with the identical heads and similar tuning.
The seller seems to think that he can justify the very high price based upon the name of John Bonham. I disagree. As Hoppy said, you can buy new Ludwig green sparkle drums for much less.
It's not just drums that sellers assume&think they can justify high prices,
It applies to cymbals as well especially on fee/preybay (Ebay),
There's a few well known sellers on there attempting&trying to ask for&get blood from a stone/mortage your house prices for anything "Bonham"!,
Then there's that DON'T know what they've got......
In 'Bonham" gear,
BUT that's another story for another time.
But what I don’t get is how there’s interest
I think some of the sellers that we know are unscrupulous
Are hiding out here as 1rst timers , no hi how are you , no Donation, and just a lot of bs .
Btw way as I stated before I have a freighter connection
For overseas ,very fare!
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp
once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
