I have to redo the plumbing in my house so i'm entertaining the idea of selling my early 1970s peacock satin flame kit. 22,12,13,16. Kit has been in climate controlled storage when not used in the studio. Serial numbers 16375, 15482, 15503, and 15504.
They have the Grestch stop sign badge with silver interiors. Chrome is in great shape. The drums also have the Gretsch orange & white paper labels, which are clean and bright. Model numbers are legible. All drum shells have dampers and mufflers. There is playing rash on the bass and toms, however, given the type of wrap, it’s very hard to see from a short distance and when the lights hit it, you can’t see it at all.
I just replaced the heads. When I received the drum kit, it was missing one of the kick drum hoops, so I replaced it with a Gibraltar plain black one. The original one has the inlay so it's a little mismatched, but i'll include a matching satin flame inlay strip if you want to use a router and make it match.
The felt strip was installed on the batter kick head. This is original to the kit. No extra holes have been screwed. I took it to a vintage drum shop here and they said it may be a 70s custom kit.
The pic i've included was when I bought it, it has Evans g2 heads right now instead of the oil hydraulics. Send me a PM if you're interested and i'll send updated pics.
Since i'm not 100% sure I want to part with this kit, but I need money for plumbing, send me your offers. Or feel free to post in the comments what you guys think it's worth.
