Feast your eyes on this! If you’ve seen any of my other posts regarding the dumpster save from a school that is closing to be torn down-can you believe this was destined for the trash???

16X16 FT-you will have to look closely at the pictures as I have no clue how to gauge what’s important to a drummer when it comes to what is perhaps the holy grail of vintage drums. Every part appears to be original. Yes, 50 some years of use by middle schoolers have left its share of scuffs, scratches, dings and the like. I can’t apologize for those, but to my eyes, overall the drum looks awesome. I did manage to polish off most of the hormones. The seam is tight, the baseball bat tone control is complete, the bearing edges look factory issued and the legs appear to have the original rubber feet. The chromes do have a fair amount of pitting, but for a drum of this age, I’m not sure you could consider it excessive. Fortunately, because the wrap is “busy,” it hides the age marks pretty well. Look at the pic so you are aware of the fingertip-sized ding in the wrap that is most noticeable. As not to mess with the true vintage-ness of the drum, I only lightly polished the chromes with Noxon 7 and used Novus 1, once around, for the wrap as I’m sure the proud purchaser of this drum will want to give it his/her own level of detailing. I put generic white painted heads on simply to dress up the drum for sale and to keep the cost down. (Lawton Drum Company in Sunbury PA has period correct repro tri-circle Weather Masters for under $20 a piece, slightly more for bass heads). Since the purchase may be more like an investment, you may want all the info you can acquire, so you can certainly PM me for more details and pictures.
