I agree that Prima laid down a lot of the ground work for what became Rock n Roll. He, and the other Louis (Jordan) pretty much pioneered the departure from swing, blues, and jazz to meld together those genres to what became Rock in the early 50's. I think that Bill Haley deserves some credit, too, for bringing in some of both Country and Western influences to the gumbo being cooked up for us.

when i was 6 or 7 i would slip that 45(sing sing sing) circa 1957 /58into my moms rca sort of like a cd player for 45 's and that song got me hook so bad id play it over and over again till i became those drums man i love that stuff talk about fire i wanna do a remake of that cover
