1960s Slingerland "Stage Band" Blue Ripple Drum Kit

Loading...

Slingerland "Stage Band" drum set in original Blue Ripple wrap, sizes 20x14, 12x8, and 14x14. No modifications. The floor tom is dated to a year later (1966) and has double-sided lugs.

Bass Drum: Stamped 1965. Has some rash near the badge as well as an internal stain in the inside. Wood is solid. Slight lift at the bottom seams.

12x8 Tom: Stamped 1965. Small cracks in the wrap emanating from some of the lugs as well as some pitting on the hoops. Bottom hoop is unoriginal.

14x14 Tom: Stamped 1966. A bit lighter in color. Wrap is pretty clean as well as the hardware.

The wrap has shrunk to the center on the all the drums which is common for this wrap, hence the gap between the wrap and the bearing edges in the photos. Clear interiors all around.

$1350 shipping included CONUS, international shipping available. Flat rate of $200 to Europe. PM if interested.

Pardon me for saying this, but why didn't you mention the serious cracks inside of what appears to be the 8x12 tom? That's perhaps the worst example of a cracked shell I have ever seen, I'm sorry to say.

That’s why there’s photos, Bob. And it’s actually not that bad of a crack. These clear interior shells dry out very easy and are extremely prone to cracking on their inner ply. It doesn’t affect the integrity of the shell whatsoever.

Chris, again, I'm sorry to say this, but the photo makes the inside of that tom look extremely bad. I would consider having those cracks repaired before putting the set up for sale. Of course, it's your choice. Precision Drum in NY State could rectify the issue for you.

When I saw the first photo of that set, I was interested. Unfortunately, now I'm not. Again, no offense intended, but that was my reaction. I wish you luck selling them.

Precision does good work, but it’s not something I feel needs repaired.

I would have to agree with Chris on the interior crack, not an issue!

Really cool kit at a nice price.

I am wishing this to be under the tree for me on Christmas morning!
