Does anyone really know the proper way to assemble a Ludwig ball bat muffler? Any photos would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

i found those photos. both are put together different. There are 2 nuts. Is there supposed to be one on each side of the muffler pad plate?

I've seen them both ways. Most of them have the nut that holds then spring in place. Then the felt muffler/arm simply goes into place and is secured by another nut.

Red is right. At least they work better when in that configuration, IMO.

Ron Are both nuts locked together on the other side of the thin muffler plate then?

This is the way I typically set them up after a refurb or cleaning
