1950s Zildjian Value 21" rivet

Loading...

Hi all.

I have a 21" Zildjian sizzle ride from the 1950s (confirmed by the 3 dots, w 1 &3/4 high stamp and hollow block letters).

The weight is 2404 grams.

I like it but I don't play jazz, what would be the value on it?

I can post a pic of the stamp later but I am pretty sure it is 50s

In terms of value, here is a recent eBay sale:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/330952356041

21" hollow block (aka "large stamp") 2319g sold for $197.50

It happens to be by the very same drumaholic who initially posted an answer to you in this thread (since deleted), and also the very same drumaholic who originally put forward the original stamp timeline which dated this stamp as 1950s. I guess he didn't understand your verbal description of the stamp or misinterpreted that fuzzy distance picture as 1960s. That's why good pictures are so important.

I don't formally record and analyze prices for old As like I do for Paiste 602/Sound Creations but that seems a bit low to me relative to the expected value. Drumaholic is the expert in this area so he might like to comment on expected value.

Heres a pic of mine...

I always thought it was a 20"..lolol

Its a 21" with (6) orig rivits..

I played it lastnite at a popular Open mic..

About 50++ musicans...

There was about 6 drummers (all diff / music styles & it stayed up there the whole nite)..must have gotten over a dozen comps from drummers and other musicans.. for its sound (I like to seat in the back and listen to my babies being played..lol)

After I found this cym /I started to play it, after about 10hrs..I was hooked.!

*This Cymbal is named Nancy (after my wife / she doesn't know this though..lol....Both are irreplaceable.!

* @ FF77....Whats the weight of yours..!

mine was hard to weight on my lil store bought model..

so 2560g / 2585g was the best I could come up with..
