Hi all, WTB a WFL Super 400 COB. Unmolested and in decent shape. Come on let her go, you don't use her anymore and she is meant to be played.

As far as we don’t play I think that’s not true , as far as I’m am concerned I have a 61 and let me tell you it’s the best snare in my stable, in fact it set up with my mint wmp 64 kit I really would miss mine ,.....

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

How do you tell if it is a brass shell other then a magnet test?

The brass models from that period have rolled edges that turn inward towards the shell. The Ludalloy (aluminum) shells do not have this feature. There is also a seam on the brass shells that can often be spotted. All the WFL and Transition badge models were brass. The early 60's Ludwigs with pre serial badges and round knob mufflers are brass. Some of the red felt muffler with crimped beds and pre serial badges are brass and some are not. Have to go back to my first sentence to identify those.

chrislehberger, thanks for the heads up it's a beauty. I know that the WFL don't pop up for sale very often but I thought I'd give it a shot anyway, I'll give it a little more time.

jaghog, truth be told I don't think I'd part with it either and yes they sound great!
