1950 Ludwig Deluxe Snare for Ludwig COB Super 400

Loading...

Hey Friends...just throwing this out there in case anyone is interested. Looking to trade this rare 1950 6 1/2" x 14" Ludwig Deluxe snare for a 1940's Leedy Broadway of same wrap, size and comparable condition. I just picked up a '49 Leedy 3-piece kit and would love to have the matching Leedy snare. This Ludwig will match just fine, but having an all Leedy kit would be even better! Description of my snare below.

It is a 6 1/2" x 14" 1950 Ludwig & Ludwig Deluxe snare in original White Avalon finish in pretty good condition with only a couple of hairline cracks (in the wrap only, pictured below), maybe about 1/2" long. Hardware is NOB with original stick chopper hoops, Imperial lugs and tension rods, although I am missing the original strainer. It had a couple of extra holes in the panel where the original strainer would be mounted, so I added a modified P-83 to make the snare playable. The snare extensions are also not original, but work for this drum. Edges are nice and it is painted white on the inside with '5001' stamped on the inside. Tone control is also in place, although the felt is missing.

Thanks!

Aaron

Hi,

I was wondering if you could tell me more infomation about the Deluxe Snare you are offering for trade. And I am also wondering how much you are offering it for? I am very intrested in the 1950's Ludwig snares as I am looking to buy one in the future. If you could also tell me the history of the snare drum that would be fantastic. :)

Looking forward to your reply,

Jonathan

I don't have much information on it, other than what I have posted. I picked up this snare in a Craigslist deal. At this point, I would only be interested in trading it for a similar Leedy. Do you happen to have a similar Leedy snare to trade?
