18" Zilco Constantinople Rivet Hole Repair?

Loading...

Hi All,

Recently picked up a paper thin (1161g) 18" Zilco Constantiople with 3 rivet holes. It's a fantastic cymbal but being so thin it has suffered some over the years. Theres a small amount of keyholeing, a 1/16 edge crack, and a torn up rivet hole. The keyhole and small crack are not a bother as the cymbal sounds great and I dont play it very hard. It's the rivet hole I wonder about. Its got a small crack coming off of it and is just plain ugly! Should I drill it out? This would leave me with a 1/4 hole. Thanks.

If it's begining to crack I'd drill it out.

Never play it the same way once.

If the crack looks like it's getting bigger then drill it out a bit but if it isn't spreading and it doesn't effect the sound of the cymbal then i would leave it alone.
