I have an extra drum for my black Cortex Ludwig kit. It's not black and I was considering wrapping in black Formica to get a decent match. I can get 0.8mm. I like to think this will be a good match. Would you recommend this or is standard black wrap a good match? Advice appreciated.

In addition to getting the thinner formica, you have to get it where the "grain" runs 90 degrees to the normal stuff so it will actually bend easily enough. If you buy a 4' x 8' sheet, the normal stuff for counter tops runs long ways paralell to the 8' side. You need the stuff where the grain runs parallel to the 4' side.
I think the black PVC wrap is much shinier than the cortex, but I don't know that for a fact, having only seen black cortex online.
