Slingerland snare #3 on the way.

I had the same problem with the butt side on mine, ended up using the plastic tape! Might try a Ludwig snare head with a shallow collar.

I have the 7x14 also, Remo Ambasador snare side with a calf head on top, 16 strand Puresounds, has a very vintage fat vibe! Not very sensitive!!
