Ludwig drum cutdown
 

I have a 18 deep bassdrum and wanting it down to 16 I found a drum maker here in Melbourne Australia he said he could match the bearing edge to the original what are your opinions on doing this should I or should I leave it he also said he can cut it down with out plugging any holes.
