I had a '67 Double kit early 70's... Have posted pics before.. most of my memories of the kit are captured in B&W.. A few months ago our guitar player posted this pic which I had never seen before.. Lead singer helping me out with the lug in.. Had forgotten how just how much that kit sparkled when near new....

This here is probably my rarest Ludwig. I got this one last year at a antique sale for $45. Yes $45 :p
I honestly had no idea what it was until I came here. 1927/29 transition BB. You'll notice the strainer is of the early model and the floral pattern of the later. It is a little beat up but my god is this drum pretty. I have it on display and it will always get attention. This is my gold standard in how a snare drum can be an expression. I love my red WFL but this is on a different level. NO YOU CANNOT BUY IT!! lol. |

These are 3x of my Ludwig's. The Mahogany Mist one is from the 80's, Thermogloss is 1978 and the Green Lacquer is from the 90's. The Green and Mahogany have the 6-ply shells (very heavy) and the power toms typical of the day. All great fun to play.
