16 X 10 Stainless Steel Bass Drum
2 Attachment(s)
I wanted to make a 16 BD. Not sure why. I came to the conclusion that a metal shell would be louder and hopefully deeper in tone.
Explored raw metal and bending and rolling and........well it was too much. Went online and by chance, found a 16x10 SS Marcher and thought.......wait there it is. The metal shell you were trying to make. 60 bucks and truly beat to...well lets just say it had that High School Marching Band "patina." The head from the high school is temporary and in pic. Actually....I have seen much worse heads and shells. Oh now I remember why the 16.......to go with my 10" snare made from a Goodwill Cooking Pan. Fo real. |

I finished putting this one together. I had to change head/hoop methods due to a supplier sending me the wrong heads.....twice......
I wanted the Evans 16" Bass Drum Head for TOM Rim ***(the model number has to have an "X" at the end). Instead, they sent me the 16" head for bass drum hoop. 1/4" approx bigger. Well....it don't fit in the triple flange rim. They said I could keep the heads and still get a refund. So.... After waiting so long..... and.... DFD hoops don't fit Evans,....I said ********it. Made a hoop out of Ebony and Walnut............NO I did not......masonite strips, glue and 2 screws. |
