BEAUTIFUL looking kit.Clapping Happy2
THANKS for sharing!
One question, if I may: Is the wrap on your snare somewhat different than the wraps on the rest of the drums? I ask since it appears to be a black diamond pearl in lieu of an oyster black pearl. Then again, with only one "good eye" anything's possible I guess (lol)!
Yes, you are correct, the snare wrap is BDP. It is just a few months newer than the other three and I think they were meant to be togther. They sure sound good all together!
I don't understand where all the missing snares are in the world but often the original snare is not around with so many vintage kits. I was really thrilled to find this great little W&A BDP snare after buying the other 3 matched W&A drums.

OldSchool, if you click on the pic twice it zooms in on it and the wraps are really clear to see then.
Beautiful!! And clean!! Great kit!!

Thanks BigE! I'm quite proud of it. I had a blast searching for everything: cymbal stands, bass pedal, h/h stand, snare stands, throne, that lovely little snare and a few miscellaneous items. Cleaning and polishing everything up and then putting them all together to make something special was a very gratifying process. So even though that snare is not original to the kit like the other 3 drums are, I have a real soft spot for it. I feel I rescued it and gave it value. A very nice guy that I met at the CT vintage drum show had it in storage. It came to me dirty, a little rusty, with missing parts and wrong parts and not totally functioning (throw-off was quite bent and wouldn't stay in position). With help from a drummer friend of mine in RI it now has all vintage correct W&A parts on it, shines and functions like new and sounds unbelieveable! Who knows what might have happened to it otherwise. I'm not sure there are that many other people who would had cared enough to spend time and money searching for such obscure parts. A real piece of American history saved- and being played!
