Old Gretsch Bd - No Extra Holes

I'm just starting to look for an old Gretsch BD preferrably a 26...maybe 28" from the 30's 40's era. I would like it not to have been altered from original and to still have original hardware & badge etc.

Thanks - actually I'm thinking of using some of the fine old Gretsch drums I have to put together a kit..........maybe use my 1926 snare, the 49 parade drum (10x14) for a floor & I have the nice little 1947 8x10 tacked on reso head tom. Just an idea....I'll see how it goes. If the right BD project comes along I'll go for it. My own little "antique" kit. I might even decide to use an old 16 or 18 ft for a bd.....given the small size drums I already have.

Gary, I may be able to help. In the back of a friend's drum shop there is a 14x26 Gretsch RB bass drum that is in complete and presentable condition. It even has the calf heads on it still. The drum has the Rocket style lugs, twenty of them, and has not been drilled for any tom mounts, spurs or anything like that. Yes, you read that right, virgin shell! Its finished in a black lacquer paint finish, which I believe to be original as it has some checking.

I can inquire about it if you like. I'm sure the price would be reasonable. PM me if this sounds like something you'd like me to check out for you....
