You may want to check and see if the kit is seeing someone already. It's easy, just ask if they would like to go out to dinner or lunch... DOH

They have a verifier on the website that can do it. Anything that is really vintage, from the 70s back to 67 will not register, however I think the Custom series dates to the mid-late 80s. I am not positive, but it seems somewhere in the crusty grey matter in lurks...

How old is she, and does she have a sister?....Coffee Break2

Seriously, you have any idea, even a close approximation?

If it is a first gen kit in really good condition, say maybe 400-500. For some reason the absolutes don't seem to be reselling, at least around here. I watched one in L/R Ark founder on C/L for like 4 months until he finally dropped the prie from the stratosphere to reality. Then it went quick. But it was 3 year old as well, not 5-10. I am not certain as to the date of first production of these.

The badges look like '70-es, with serial numbers close to each other (but not the same number on all of the components).

The interior is still painted in original gray paint, and the shells are in great shape (except for the bearing edges, those I had to restore). It had mufflers built in under the batter head, but I removed them while cleaning. The chromed parts are also in great shape.

I have no idea what type of wood it is, and generally, where I live, there's really little info on vintage drums, so I'd appreciate if any of the Yamaha experts could help me ID this kit up to the name of the model, type of wood and approximately the year of production.

I wasn't aware that the Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute kits were Vintage. Am I missing something here? These are fairly new, aren't they? Definitely within the past 10 to 15 years. How is that Vintage and how would that be difficult to date?
