Zildjian K Istanbul 22" Intermediate stamp -- thin

From Drumaholic

Harsh? Well pehaps it might seem so to many, but Bill and I are experienced and well seasoned listeners of old K's. As a consequence we've learned to become exquisitely adept at parsing even the finest tonal nuances in a given cymbal one from another. Both Bill and I suffer from a morbid acuteness of the senses, which in my case began at an early age. Even the slightest hint of dissonanace in any cymbal will cause me to up my nose to it and not even give it a 2nd listen. In fact I'm so exquisitely sensitive that I can, for example, tell you that the painting which hangs in my office as I write this to you now currently has a headache. I can actaully feel its pain.

Uhhhh...I'm speechless. Bowing

I'm almost surprised that cymbal went for as much as it did. The look of it is very "new stamp" for an intermediate K.

I'm not the expert, but the lathing looks closer to an intermediate than to the 2 new stamps I own.

Yeah, it was nearly NOS as far as how long it's been played. To be totally honest, I agree with all your comments about the cymbal. I managed to get it for $400, so if it was anything special to my ears I would've kept it. I'm happy enough with the extra thousand bucks though, wasn't expecting too much more.

Right, but compared to other Intermediate K's it looks newer than some look. Particularly the bell, which is smaller than some I've seen. The cymbal itself looks very much like an Intermediate 22" I owned a few years ago.

Buckner, You got a great deal and good for you turning it around and making bucks on it.

I once came into an opportunity to buy an old K of some era and it sounded gorgeous...but the guy wanted a grand...firm. I said Good Luck! I wish I had bought it, now. But I also wish I had a grand back then, too!
