It apears to be one! the p-85 strainer looks to be a first generation one from what I can see! do you have any badge pics that aren't backwards and shows the number?, if your having trouble posting pics you can send them to me I'll post them?

I don't have any other pics. I took these with my webcam. I'm close to computer illiterate and that was the best I could do. The engraving is hand written.

I have taken a look for anything distiguishing inside but there is nothing.[Attachment: 21000] It may help to know it came with my six piece ludwig butcher block set. I looked at the images you referred to and my snare looks to be exactly the same. What I don't understand is the odd badge. I've looked very closely at it and it doesn't appear to have been tampered with. This snare is in great shape.

I remember passing on a black beauty with a badge like this, because I wasn't sure about it. I later found out it was a real one.DOHCryBaby

Cool, check one more thing on the outside by the tone control knob is there a stamp with BR underneath the round knob when you get a chance post us some pics please.
