I'm a newbie! Hi everyone. I have a question about my black beauty. I have a badge shaped like the grn/olv it's pointed has no color the number is 438 any idea what i have i know it's from the 70's:D

Gail Welcome great to have you with us, As BBk stated pics would help evaluate the drum, are the serial numbers 438 is that number on the blue olive badge or inside the shell? if it's on the badge is the number stamped or scribed into the badge? thanks
I don't have a camera. Will try to get a pic soon. The badge is in the shape of the grn/olv pointed but does not have the color. The numbers are scribed on the badge and the are 427 oops! my mistake.:confused:

Gail, so I think this is your badge sorry the pic was only a slight help, does this one match yours? In 1971-‘72 Ludwig also used B & O Badges without Serial Numbers (LVDC) (badge courtesy: O-lugs)

Well, I think and it looks like the paint has been removed from the badge..just one question why is the name Ludwig backwards on the badge????Mikey
