Mid-line jazzier cymbals

Loading...

Looking for some decent, not terribly expensive 18" or 20" ride or crash/ride and some hats to match. This is for a customer. The needs are that they be in overall good condition, be fairly matched in tone and jazzier weights. A Zildjiands, K, anything really that would be decent cymbals for a small venue and light work load. Not looking for top of the line Pro pies, good midlines will suffice. Brand name is not important here, only that they really sound good and be affordable, as in not over the top old K prices...preferably in the 150-250 range for all, if that is even possible. I am not all that up on pricing, but my neighbor is and will advise me when something comes up.

Thanks to all!

You say you want "Mid-line" cymbals, but then mentions A"s and K's.......

as you know, those are not mid-line!

I don't think you will find someone who will sell you a ride/crash/hats for $250 in those lines.........

Maybe B8 Sabians.

Yeah, I know Ks are out, unless someone has one they hate and would love to get rid of it for some dollars instead of throwing out the 6th floor window just to see it sail across Centrl Park...hehehe

And many A's are not all that expensive, I know for a fact. Not looking for that combo anyway. I said, a CRASH/RIDE 18"-20" and some hats, IN THE RANGE OF...that is very doable. I know I will find the right combo, and at the right money. The expectation is not unrealistic, I do have an idea of what I am looking for and what some of the prices are. I am well aware Ks are out. However, I also know many As are not.

B8s...nah. I can find complete sets for not much more than 150 on our local C/L from time to time, but hey, they are B8s...

Once you try "Dream" cymbals you won't play any others.

I use the Bliss series. They rivel Constantinople K's at 1/4 the price. I use my Dream Bliss 16" crash in place of my 16 Constaninople K. They are that good!

Yeah, I have a pair of 15" Bliss hats I just got and like them. They are light weight and make some nice noise. They are used, but it was an OK deal. Not beat up at all, just looks they had been test-driven. I have played them in a bit, like malleting a ride, to get them up to snuff and since I have played them in a bit, they are really starting to come alive. At first I was a little bit disappointed, not enough to be hurt, but they are coming into their own now. I guess there is really something to this run period for "cymbols"...

Just think, one day when I learn how to play them, they might sound really awesome.

I have a 19" Dream Vintage Bliss ultra thin crash/ride. It's darker than midnight and carries a visible wobble for minutes. The advertising literature put out by Dream in describing their "Vintage Bliss" cymbal line states; "dark tone with a hint of dragon's breath" Gotta love it.

All their product is hand hammered. Check out the Dream web site. You won't be sorry.
