Ludwig Drums 4 Sale

Sorry, I'm not trying to be an ass, but they have been here for several weeks and still asking the same. I am only trying to point out that most cortex 6 ply shells are just not that desirable to vintage guys, that's all. These have been posted, bumped, re-posted and re-bumped, and still no sale. Again, I have not seen many cortex kits sell for anything like these prices, let alone singles. Many cortex KITS sell for these prices. 350ish is good money, unless there is a Supra with them, and that is usually what the buyer is after, the snare, to with the rest of the kit. Just an observation.

OK, look, I know the economy is bad, but I'm not going to give these away. The lugs alone go for $5-6 each, that's 20 on the kick and 12 on the tom, 32x5 = $160 just for the lugs. The 13" shell should be at least $50 and the 22" shell another $75, so that's a total of $285 and that's not counting the rims, bass hoops and heads. I'm only asking $275 for both complete. They may be gone today anyway, there's a guy here that wants to give me several bran new Zildjian a series cymbals for them, worth over $500, so I may do that deal.

Thats a good way to look at it......

if you can part it out and get double or more......WTF not?

I had someone offer me $100 for a complete 13" Slinger tom on here recently...I can get close to $200 parting it out.........so,no sale.

I sell around $2,000 just in vintage parts every year at the Chicago Show......have for around the last 6-7 years.....

Lots of these parts. BTW,came from drums I used to grab out of the local paper etc where there would be 10 extra holes added/painted black inside etc......

At that point, the drums are worth more in parts then complete.

You could find whole sets with cymbals for $200-300 10-20 years ago!

I agree, but these drums don't have any real issues, so I'd rather not piece it out, they are beautiful. The wrap is tight and shiney and the hardware is as clean as any I've seen, not to mention the silver sparkle inlays and it's a rare virgin kick. The two drums are worth, in my opinion, much more than what I'm asking.

Exactly. Its like book "breakers" who take a classic, rare book and cut the darned plates out of it and ebay them. Yet another rare item GONE FOREVER. Thank you for using your head before arbitrarily parting out the drums because they're worth more (in dollars) that way.

Man, the Zildjian deal is intriguing. Cymbals are crazy expensive... H.
