Xylene is the best adhesive remover on the planet, it removes the glue and doesnt harm paint or plastic. it is the main ingredient in 3M's adhesive remover but costs much less at lowes or home depot. Some tar removers have xylene it them, and they wont harm paint.

Poppy turned me on to this product and it works great.
I removed all the left over wrap glue from a Slingy bass not long ago using the stuff.
Open all windows or be prepared for a killer headache..... strong stuff

I intend to remove the left over wrap glue, but I have a question about Xylene. will it prevent the new glue sticking to the shell and will it make the shell flammable.
in other words does it completely evaporate

Takes about a day to completely dissipate I've found.
I clean with neutral mineral spirits after that, wait another day, then start wrapping.
