18" Zildjian Hollow (ink) Logo Zildjian Ride

Loading...

Here we have an 18" hollow ink logo Zildjian ride(?) - I don't have a scale at the moment so I can't give you a weight. I listed it as a ride because there are no logo's indicating what model this is but it's not very crashable - it sounds better as a ride. You decide! Maybe a crash ride?

Very, very little ink logo on the underside, one small dent on the edge but no cracks or issues. Has been cleaned by the previous owner.

Ask if you have questions!

That is not a "Hollow" Ink logo, that is more late 80 to mid 90's. Hollow logos are early mid-70's

Part of the logo is still visible on the underside of the cymbal.

Beg to differ, but the engraved stamp, picture 3 of all shown on your O.P. is of a later 80's to 90's logo, the "O" on CO is capitalized. That was done on older cymbals, not a "Hollow" ink logo Zildjian. This is the type of logo for "Hollow" ink logo:

backbeat,

I appreciate your help but I'm just noting that there is the remains of the classic hollow logo on the underside of the cymbal. I know there has been debate about this stamp before, some have argued that is was a 60's stamp because of the 3 dots, others have placed it later.

I'm no expert and I don't believe I ever stated what era or year the cymbal was from, all I am trying to inform any person that is interested in the cymbal is that there IS what's left of the hollow logo on the underside.

Debate the rest all you want, the logo is there.

Thanks!

Backbeatkeeper,

I have 3 "Hollow" ink logo cymbals - 14" hi hats, 16" crash and 18" crash. The 14" hi hats and the 18" crash have the older Co stamp (lowercase o), but the 16" crash has the CO stamp so there was a transition period where the later stamp (CO) was used with the "Hollow" ink logo. That would probably put these at late 1970's to early 1980's with the transition to the solid ink logo and CO stamp in the early to mid 1980's. I also have a 16" crash and 20" ride with that configuration as well that I picked up used in 1988/1989.

Here are pictures of the 16" crash stamp and hollow ink logo.

Roubaix,

What's the weight of the cymbal? I might be interested.

If it's got a hollow logo, it's a hollow logo. So now we need another couple abbreviations: EHLA (early hollow logo A), LHLA (late. ... )
